Operator - Motor Patrol

Job Description:
Summary: Operate a variety of equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads, highways and other large site jobs. Job Description: Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Director or HR Manager. Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor; clean equipment. Assist in training of lower-level employees performing the maintenance and repair duties, as required or assigned. Other duties as needed.

Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Considerable knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles. Ability to drive and operate the equipment under varying working conditions. Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in street and road construction work. Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations. Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions. Ability to work from construction specifications or blueprints. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions. Education and/or Experience: 1-2 years of experience in operating a Motor Patrol. An equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Operators must have good eyesight and better than average coordination in order to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneously. They must have good judgment in order to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision. Skilled operators are constantly alert and observant of their surroundings. Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, dust and asphalt. Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, 75 pounds sometimes, and 100 pounds occasionally. The noise level is usually loud. Frequent sitting, talking or hearing. Use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms. Carpenter Foreman - Bridge Division

Job location:
Baton Rouge, LA - Surrounding Areas
Job Description:
Summary: Directly supervise and coordinate activities of bridge carpenter construction workers and helpers. Perform tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects. May perform work in designated craft and/or trade and may assist other craft workers. Perform supervisory and management functions related to overseeing a jobsite and job costs. Description: Act as liaison with job estimator. Provide calculations on hours involved, materials needed, along with tools, equipment and human resources required. Recognize and communicate to Superintendent or Project Manager any priority projects or problems, such as employee or job costing issues. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or HR Manager. Regularly communicate with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs. Follow Daily Foreman Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings. Frequently assist employees with work being completed Other duties as needed.

Job Description:

Plant Manager

Job Description:
Direct and manage asphalt plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving. Coordinate plant activities through the planning with field managers to insure the production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Control and minimize labor overtime, operating expenditures, and repair expenses. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs. Incorporates office organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. Provides direction, development and leadership to all plant personnel to accomplish company goals. CDL Driver - Tandems and Tri-Axles

Port Allen, LA
Job Description:
Hourly Employment to drive Tandems and/or Tri-Axles, complete inspection reports and maintenance logs, maintain truck cabs and beds, and must also be available on weekends and nights.
