Asphalt Plant Operator

Job location:
Port Allen, LA
Job Description:
Coastal Bridge has a need for an Asphalt Plant Operator to be based out of our Port Allen Plant location with some time spent in Convent and Lafayette, LA locations.
Job Request:
Candidate will be responsible for plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving. Additional responsibilities include: Coordinate plant activities through the planning with field managers to insure the production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Maintain preventative maintenance programs. Other duties as needed.

Job Description:
Directly supervise and coordinate activities of bridge carpenter construction workers and helpers. Perform tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects. May perform work in designated craft and/or trade and may assist other craft workers. Perform supervisory and management functions related to overseeing a jobsite and job costs.
Job Request:
Act as liaison with job estimator. Provide calculations on hours involved, materials needed, along with tools, equipment and human resources required. ? Recognize and communicate to Superintendent or Project Manager any priority projects or problems, such as employee or job costing issues. ? Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or HR Manager. ? Regularly communicate with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs. ? Pile Driver

Job location:

Job Description:
Operate pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers.
Job Request:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Clean, lubricate, and refill equipment. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning. Drive pilings to provide support for bridges or other structures, using heavy equipment with a pile driver head. Move hand and foot levers of hoisting equipment to position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings. Move levers and turn valves to activate power hammers, or to raise and lower drop hammers that drive piles to required depths. Other duties as needed

Job Description:
Perform tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. May assist other craft workers.
